The Thanksgiving Treasure, a continutation of The Television Holiday Special The House Without A Christmas Tree (1972), centers on the relationship between Adelaide "Addie" Mills (Lisa Lucas), a bright and energetic only child, her loving and supportive grandmother (Mildred Natwick), and her melancholy father, James Addison Mills III (Jason Robards). James is in a feud over not being properly paid for a pond he dug for local misanthrope Barnard Hughes (Walter Renquist), and Addie takes it upon herself to help Barnard by sharing a Thanksgiving dinner with him, resulting in an unexpected outcome.
