Midget Aircraft are not officially classified into their own industry-recognized category, but rather refer to aircraft diminutive in size, unmanned or with a one to two person capacacity, and/or capable of carrying small payloads. They are capable of many of the same missions as those fulfilled by drones or light aircraft.
X-Planes are a series of experimental United States aircraft and rockets, used to test and evaluate new technologies and aerodynamic concepts. They have an X designator within the US system of aircraft designations, which denotes the experimental research mission.
