With a plot so wacky that it's no wonder it inspired "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In", the director of an Olsen And Johnson movie decides, as Shemp the projectionist screens it, that the film stinks, and to make good they hire a producer to stage a musical revue at a fancy estate to drum up interest in bringing it to Broadway. The producer's in love with the daughter of the estate owner, but she's got a fiance and he's got his own plans. Complications grow as Chic's sister gets mistaken for a rich girl by a down and out Russian aristocrat. Filled with surrealistic film manipulation, firsts that were not to be repeated until "The Ernie Kovacs Show" a generation later, it is revered worldwide for containing some of the most celebrated lindy hop sequences in movie history. This film is a Rosetta Stone for much of American comedy of the latter half of the twentieth century!
